GreenGold Celebrates Two Milestones!
We’re pleased to share two important “firsts” for GreenGold that will strengthen our core forest-management
business with a new revenue stream:
Our First Larger Afforestation Project
In September 2024, GreenGold UK successfully secured Forestry Grant Scheme financing for its inaugural
project dedicated exclusively to afforestation—originally an abandoned sheep farm spanning 212 hectares. We
are now completing the necessary field work, including planting, fencing, and maintenance, under the
government-backed subsidy framework.
Our First Carbon-Credit Agreement
Building on that success, we recently signed our first carbon-credit contract with a verified purchaser and
project manager for that same afforestation project. Upon successful planting and confirmed establishment of
the new forest, this deal will transform our planted hectares into verifiable carbon removals, opening a new
revenue stream and validating our methodology for measuring, reporting, and selling forest-based carbon
credits.
While timber production and sustainable forest management remain GreenGold’s foundation—and the exact
economic benefit of the carbon-offtake is still to be determined—these “firsts” demonstrate that GreenGold
now has end-to-end expertise in afforestation-to-carbon projects, which can be a valuable complement to our
core business. We look forward to replicating this model across new landscapes and countries.
